What is High Key?

Simply, the ones with the white background. High key are stunning magazine quality images, shot in a studio, with a cyclorama (seamless white background) and specialized studio lighting.

What is Low Key?

The ones with black background. Low key are shot in a dark studio with darkened background, a specialised studio light that illuminates only your pet. These are often stunning high contrast images you see in magazines.

Aren’t High Key and Low key just cut out backgrounds?

Accepted Answer

No. This is a superior and true technique that maintains detail, giving you genuine high quality images, not cut out edges.

What Resolution are the images?

Our standard Pet Photography high res are 30 x 45cm (12 x 18 inch) at 100dpi, This is more than adequate for screen savers and ultra-sharp to print at this size. There is an upgrade available at nominal cost to go larger.

Question 5

What if my pet doesn’t like strangers?

At all times you will be handling and instructing your pet, you and your partner can sit within arm’s length of your pet. In a gentle and relaxed manner, the photographer guiding you through the process.

What if my pet is nervous?

It is normal. We give them time to check out the studio and sniff around. We have techniques that can also calm the pet. With dogs we recommend the owner takes them in the studio, lets them get acclimatised and then takes them out for a few minutes, then brings them back, second time around they are often much more relaxed.

How long does the whole process take?

Generally for a single pet allow 1 to 1.5hrs, including viewing and selection. Your pet is only in the studio for +/- 30 minutes with a break in between. 2 or more pets allow an additional one half hour.
Your selected images are emailed to you. For a small cost a USB is available to purchase, or you can supply your own on the day. Estimated delivery of other products, if purchased will be advised on the day.
